About US

Born and raised in Colorado Luke’s passion for the rodeo came at a very young age. For as long as he could remember he had a drive to ride bulls, beginning his youth career in bull riding while in elementary school and from there, finding a passion for riding horses.

From Little Britches rodeos to the Colorado Pro Rodeo Association (CPRA) and the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) Luke spent years riding in rough stock events.
Shortly after getting into bull riding he also chose to pursue horseback riding and team roping. Through high school he created many opportunities to train colts which further rooted his passion for the horse training industry and laid the path towards him earning a degree in Horse Training Management through Lamar Community College.

For over 20 years Luke has been building towards everything LB Equine is today, he has worked with a variety of respected horse trainers and has competed in many notable associations and shows on both his personal and training program horses, including:

  • PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association)

  • CPRA (Colorado Pro Rodeo Association)

  • American Quarter Horse Association World Show

  • WSTR (World Series Of Team Roping Finals)

  • NIRA (National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association)

  • ARHFA (American Rope Horse Futurity Association)

  • NRHA (National Reined Horse Association)

While he specializes in team roping Luke has also greatly helped horses and riders excel in all other roping sports, ranch riding, cow horses and much more! Luke’s talent, knowledge and skill has led countless horses and riders to success by taking the time, patience and individually geared training to each horse and rider. He is firmly grounded in the importance of honesty, trust, respect and honoring God in all he does, both personally and professionally.

Luke operates LB Equine out of Kiowa, CO where his program joined Ropes & Reins at Wolf Creek’s facility and partners with the Tiefenbacher family in roping clubs and offering quality rope horses for sale.
